On page 92 Humbert mentions a mahogany table with a drawer.Inside the locked drawer are old love letters. This table is very symbolic in that the table truly is representative of Humbert's addictive and obsessive personality. Humbert was very secretive and blunt when talking about this mysterious drawer. This shows that he has held onto these love letters and has had obsessions with many other women in his past.
