Bob’s guard, Adolf, befriends him. Luisa & Oma hear something, Oma wants to turn back but L convinces they continue. They make it to W.Berlin. B is freed & sent to the US hospital in Frankfurt. L visits B. B is discharged from hospital, L visits & tells him she can’t leave Berlin, she owes it to dad. They say goodbye. 1975: Rexburg, ID, Rick’s College- B is professor, married w/ children & happy.

Bob in E. Berlin prison. Bob tells them his real name, but only that. Bob prays & fasts. Luisa’s oma (grandma) is being watched by Stasi because she finally agreed to go to W. Berlin. Bob spared execution. Luisa has a way to get her oma into W.Berlin. Luisa & oma go through tunnel, doesn’t go as planned.

Luisa sees Bob, but Bob ignores her but she persists. He can’t tell her anything w/o putting her in danger. Bob & Schmitt take another trip to E. Berlin. The Wall goes up. Bob & Schmitt try to get out. Luisa & Adel watch E. Berliners try to get into W. Berlin. Luisa helps. Bob & Schmitt go to Leipzig, but leave unexpectedly. Bob arrested; Schmitt knew. Bob interrogated.

Bob enters E. Berlin; Schmitt asks Bob to be his TA. Luisa & co-worker go to Uni. to find students willing to give up passports to help E. Germans. L thinks she sees B. Schmitt & B go on trip to Potsdam for Schmitt’s presentation; Bob asks to take pictures. L’s contact (“Uncle Leon”) thinks he’s being followed, asks to put a pause. Soviets raid cafe. Leon arrested; lay low.

Bob arrives in Berlin as Peter Jones, student at University of Berlin. Bob stays w/ husband & wife to study german, & when they go to bed, to study his maps. L enlisted to help more people to get more people to W. Berlin. L given assignment: student at Uni. Berlin on research trip (to get next assign.). L goes to Leipzig & completes the first part of mission.

Greta, Mrs Weber’s daughter, tries to bribe L in keeping her secrets. L questioned about Mrs Weber - knows nothing. L tells B about her move. L moves. L visits her Oma in E. Berlin.

Bob invited to getaway while on leave, turns it down. Sonja & Luisa go to church social & find Bob & friend, Murdock, there. Bob invites her & Sonja to a concert. Luisa on the job; Mrs Weber, patient asks L to give a letter to her daughter in E. Germany. Daughter is hostile. L gets a call that Mrs Weber is missing.

Frankfurt, 1960: Luisa, 23, graduates nursing school. Prepares for the social. Her friend Sonja picks her up & is excited for the American soldiers that will be there. Luisa is introduced to Bob. L & B talk; L invites him to the next social. B has to leave due to curfew. L’s father tells her no more socials/ American soldiers. S & L interview for jobs at hospital. They both got the jobs.
