I think I'm developing a book crush on Pritchard. I'm way more intrigued in the opium trade in town than in finding out the deal with Anna Wetherell, the Crosbies and Emery Staines. The use of Maori cosmology and astrological symbolism is fun, although it has yet to affect the narrative very much.
