Phil and Louie are prisoners being held on Kwajalein. A man told them that all the POWS were eventually executed. One day they woke up in silence, expecting to be dragged out and beheaded, but instead hes being interrogated. Several days have passed and Louie is dehydrated and starving. I wonder if I would have the strength and faith to keep going day after day.

being asined to planes like the b-24s must have been pretty scary. its crazy that about half of the deaths of the aviators was from accidents like plane failuers, navigation failuers, and pilot mistakes. i wonder what made people want to be on a bomber back then.

Wow, louie whent from a thief and drinker to a incredible prfesinal runner, and now has a chance in the olympics. If it was not pete he would proubably still be a drinking thief. I wonder what loiue would become if he haddn't started runing.

Oliver K. Based off of the book description, Louis seems like the kind of person who doesn't give up in the face of challenge. Do you think his enemies will ever destroy him to the point of no return?

message 2: by LondonS (new) - added it

LondonS I can't believe that this actually happened and how terrible it must've been like for him to live through that. Do you think that he will eventually tell them the information that they want?

message 3: by Zanef (new)

Zanef i know if i was in that situation than i probably wouldn't and i couldn't even imagine having to go through what these pows have gone through but do you think they will eventually kill him or keep him alive for the intel
