This book has made me realize how profoundly unhappy I am. I read the text defensively. He says that the nature of humans is gentle, that we are compassionate creatures. Not only do I disagree, but I am personally outraged at this claim. I am so bitter that I argue with the Dalai Lama. I can’t even look at his face on the cover. I look away, pull my security blanket, my unhappiness, over my eyes.
