Um, this is interesting and readable and also very annoying. It's 20 years old, and that might have something to do with it, but Faderman keeps suggesting that gayness is not inherent. I haven't gotten to the part yet where she suggests that it's always a choice -- at this point she seems keen on proclaiming lesbianism is really a feminist choice to equalize women with men.
