This stuff is delightfully wild but I have no time to savor, I'm on a library deadline to finish in 5 days flat.

Due back at the library tomorrow, it has been a stretch to finish in time but I'm gonna make it. Proud of myself for making the time and exercising the discipline to read a big chunk every day, and grateful for the lull in work which freed me up enough to make it possible.

So I went into this blind and have yet to find my footing. But so far plenty of debaucherous fun, shades of RAW.

W.D. Clarke Never read this one and has been years, but liked the crazy zaniness of Half Asleep in Frog Pyjamas

I cannot believe that is the title of a real book.

This is my first from Tom Robbins. I heard he has a bit of a cult following, and now I'm considering signing up!

Goatboy This might be my favorite Robbins of them all and I try to re-read it every few years just to remind myself of a better way to look at life. This story is filled with a great dollop of good hearted humanity. Skinny Legs and All is also up there.

Goatboy Although his earlier novels are the ones that started his strong following they are very much of the time and can seem a bit too wacky or trying to hard. Jitterbug is really where he hit his stride imo.

I can feel a reread in my bones already. I've read Illuminatus! umpteen times and this plays a lot of the same games. Reading it on a clock is a blessing and a curse - I can't slow down!

Goatboy Plus, you'll never look at beets quite the same way ever again!

Lord, when this is all through I won't ever want to see another beet again!
