I'm 2/3 of the way through, and getting more disgusted. Everyone knows Follett is fixated by sex and especially rape, but his description of a captured child being hosed down naked in public and prepared for her rape as having "perfect round breasts" was just about enough for me to put the book down and forget about it. Just disturbing. The story is interesting, but not necessarily the serious novel it could be
