I swear in all these books with an evil/controlling husband they make the husband as detestable as possible. It just makes for a very frustrating reading experience. Because I'm here yelling at him and the wife (though they're not married yet) as I see all the red flags that she can't quite see. I think she does see or sense the red flags though but isn't fully aware....
