A lot has happened, Katniss has become the 'mockinjay' for district 13 and the rebels as they try their best to bring down the capitol using various techniques such as filming propos and getting rid of the districts that help the capitol. They also got Peeta back, but hes been brainwashed to think Katniss is the enemy. They are currently trying to fix that as Katniss promises that she will kill Snow with her ownhands

Interesting ending. Not one i was expecting though. An assault on the capitol from the rebels goes wrong. A bomb goes off killing many children as well as Katniss's sister. This plan was designed by her friend gale. President Snow is found guilty and while Katniss is meant to kill him, she turns her bow to Coin, the rebellion leader and kills her. Katniss and Peeta get married in district 13. Gale goes his own way.

After surviving the hunger games and humiliating the capitol, not once,but twice, the third novel begins right where the second left off, katniss being escorted away to district 13 (which was thought to be destroyed) but is in fact a revolutionary base. They have been waiting for somebody like Katniss to spark the flame against the Capitol but Peeta has been kidnapped by the Capitol and most of district 12 destroyed.
