Delicious, on a number of levels.This is a delicately crafted story of the inner world of Madame Wu, the matriarch of a Japanese family who, with utmost grace, steps away from her “duties” as a wife without abdicating her role as head of the large extended family, while she and the priest played delicately with the bounds of wisdom and true intimacy.
