Finally something meaningful and deep. I love, love, love* the conversation between Maggie and Fiona. It is so open and deep and everyone says their point of view and their feelings and wishes and thoughts. I love it. I really wish the part where Fiona and Jesse see each other and talk - because I'm sure that it would happen eventually. And if it doesn't...I would hate this book :)

I feel like the conversation between Fiona, Ira and Maggie is just..awkward. None of them really want to be having a conversation, but at the same time they all want things to be fine and for them to be able to speak without it being so awkward and quiet. Now that Ira took Leroy out to play some frisbee, maybe Fiona and Maggie will have the heart to heart conversation they need in order to understand each other.

I am so shocked that Fiona is not getting married. WHAT?! This whole book started out from that and the whole adventure has been about that and now it is all gone? Honestly though, I am not really liking the book as much. I am getting a big bored with it. The characters aren't exciting .. they are these middle aged couple that are in a midlife crisis and I feel like they are very depressed and tired of each other.

I don't know if I like these constant flashbacks..of course, I would like to get them every now and then..to understand the characters and their background, but it's getting to the point where it is ridiculous. I loved the quote "maybe it was just that sooner or later, even the sharpest pain became flattened". Love it.

I'm still doubting Mr. Otis about the whole wheel thing. I feel like he knew all along there is nothing wrong the wheel, Maggie told him so herself! The guy is in a fight with his wife or 50-something years and, I think, he just needed someone to be there for him. I'm still trying to figure out what was all of that about, yet Maggie and Ira are already leaving. Perhaps they will meet again.

Realizing that Ira feels like a failure for his marriage and children, I start to look at him differently and get a different perspective. Maybe the guy isn't as heartless,as it seems, maybe he is just really disappointed in himself.

I can't figure out who Mr. Otis is. I don't know if he is being his real self or if he is simply creating this whole lie just for payback.
