A body, of someone thought to be dead, beaten, tortured and belonging to a family member, trapped in a barrel, full of what I thought was oil but now know as Lesser “blood”, the smell, the ring, the psychology, the trauma, all made this so terrifying.

My hubby’s aunt is also a horror writer so I am much more used to the idea but am still so thankful to have picked this author up.

Wow- this is the scene I read years ago, didn’t fully understand (since I read this book out of order), and I had nightmares/remembered ever since! This scene is what made me want to read the whole series and every book by this author. Up until then, I was a huge Stephen King and Dean Koontz fan but I was so excited to read horror written this well by a woman!

JR Ward writes some of *the best* sex scenes ever! This is still my favorite book- love, war, crashing planes, and great sex!
