As the trial approaches, Arthur has a lot on his plate, not the least of which being a wildlife fiasco back in Garibaldi. However, he is able to split his time and prepare for the case, which will push him to his limits. While some of the early witnesses do not prove to be all that challenging, there will be times when a single slip-up can cause major damage. Arthur must be on point, while fending off the doubters.

With the trial underway, Arthur sets about putting the chemical company on trial, rather than defending his clients in the traditional way. There is a lot of science through which to wade, though accusations of falsified reports and downplaying results are front and centre throughout much of the testimony. Arthur finds a certain study of great interest and travels stateside to learn more about it to bolster the case.

With the trial approaching, Arthur and the defence team must come up with something concrete to argue before the courts. After hearing some interesting legal analysis, Arthur is pushed to argue the necessity defence, as though the act of sabotage was necessary and therefore justified. The Crown is less than impressed and with a right-leaning judge, it could go up in smoke. Additionally, there is the science to learn.

Once the chemical plant has been ransacked and the perpetrators flee, it’s up to the police to follow the leads and apprehend them. A keen detective works with others and finds a eco-group ripe for the act. It will take patience, but slowly it comes together and a group of six are scooped up in a raid, with another captured trying to flee the country. Beauchamp agrees to fly to Toronto to represent them. Bring it on!

Arthur Beauchamp has made a name for himself in the legal world, but prefers the quiet of his home on BC’s coast. With his free time, he can dabble in the world of protecting the area around him, even if large US mining corporations prefer to move in and cause a stir. In Ontario, a group of environmentalists seek to stop production of a chemical that has been killing honeybees. When a raid goes awry, the law arrives.
