Apparently Kevin J. Anderson thinks "good clean entertainment" appropriate for both kids and adults = a story which features Black people who have been forcibly taken from their country and put on display for white people's entertainment. Plus a decapitated body, which I see is pictured in the first two illustrations - the body in the first one and the head in the second.

Wait, what? Trains don't stop that fast. The conductor can't just casually pull over to talk to someone who happens to be standing near the tracks in the middle of nowhere.

"[Redacted] slipped me a file in a banana and a hacksaw in a loaf of bread. She'd read about it someplace. Anyway, I sawed my way out."

Like something out of a cartoon.

Well...let's see how this goes. It was a conference freebie - the publisher was giving out tons of them.

The foreword (by Kevin J. Anderson) is already making me cringe, though. "...Ron Hubbard actually lived adventures that his own characters would have admired - as an ethnologist among primitive tribes..." (ix). "These tales will return you to a time when fiction was good clean entertainment..." (x).
