Captivating thus far but I wonder if the 'n' word, you know, "nigga" needed to be said in this book. I count two so far. On one hand, sure, I get that authors need to set a scene. I wouldn't question the placement if the character's environment made it appropriate to use the word. But this was just out of the blue...as if the only way Tartt could let us know that Boris was mimicking gang signs was to reference POC.
