Lily's younger sister hangs herself. A couple years later, Lily now has a daughter and a son. Rose and little Jim. I can see where Rose might grow apart from her mother and her lifestyle. She is like Jeannette because she is a daddy's girl. I don't know much about little Jim because he is younger then rose and hasn't been mentioned.

Lily is doing well. She has a good man, is teaching and riding horses. But then her sister comes to her pregnant and Lily's job is now on the line. I dont think its fair for her boss to put her in that situation. But her sister was also selfish for using her sister and not taking her advise.

As I continue to read the story I am starting to dislike that father of Lily. Although he has a limp and speech inpediment and when he is first decribed he seemed to be a good guy I now see how alike he is to Jeannette's father. They are alike because they have no problem taking their children's hard earned money, or instead of providing for their family are selfish instead.

I am not very far into the story yet but I can not wait to read about Jeannette's grandma and hopefully then her mother because I think that would be the most interesting thing, to know why she raised Jeannette the way she did correlates to her childhood.
