I'm actually pretty annoyed now that Mr. Hallorann is still driving to the hotel and has gotten into two car accidents in the past chapter. The ghost of Grady has let Jack out of the pantry and that's pretty bad news because he's on a mission to get kill Danny and Wendy, and now he has found a weapon -- a roque mallet. I hope that Wendy is able to fight him off and that Hallorann arrives because things look bleak.

Jack found Wendy, which doesn't surprise me, and I'm really shocked at what he does to her. He breaks her ribs, she gets stabbed in the leg, and hit with the hammer in the back. I'm happy that she has finally gotten away from him, and that she was able to injure him, as well. Hallorann is now very close to the hotel, but he gets attack by a hedge lion, and I'm annoyed because I want to find out if he saves anyone.

This is probably the most intense part of the book so far because Wendy is now alone, searching for Jack to make sure that he is still locked in the pantry. I, as the reader, know that he is not, and I'm scared for her to find him and see what happens when (or if) she does run into him. I feel as though Hallorann isn't going to come in time, and I hope he doesn't die like he does in the movie.

There's no word on Mr. Hallorann yet and that's kind of annoying, because Danny and Wendy were now both attacked by Jack, and they had to lock him in the pantry to make sure that he didn't hurt them. I was glad that Wendy fought against Jack and protected herself. I just ended at the last chapter and it says that the hotel is coming to life, because the elevator is running by itself, but I hope it's Hallorann.

I'm really happy that Mr. Hallorann made it safely to Colorado, but now there's just more to worry about for him because he has to drive in the snow storm to the hotel. I kind of wish the author would speed up the process of telling Mr. Hallorann's parts of the story, though and that his chapters weren't so short. Jack has now spoken to the ghosts of the hotel and has injured himself, and I feel bad for Wendy.

I'm worried that Jack will never return to his normal state of mind because now the ghosts of the hotel are manipulating him and he is drinking again, which he hasn't done for a long time because he promised his wife he wouldn't. I feel bad for the family because Jack is forgetting about them, even though they're still on the back of his mind. It's a little weird that he just met Delbert Grady, who killed his family.

The book is starting to get a little more scary, and I'm afraid for Danny because he can no longer call Mr. Hallorann because the ghost in the hotel is stopping him from doing so. I don't know if Mr. Hallorann will get to Colorado in time to save the whole family because of the snow storm. I'm nervous that more ghosts will torment Danny, and I don't think that Jack should drink like he wants to.

I was pretty upset that Mr. Hallorann wasn't able to get to the airport on time to travel to Colorado. This part of the book is really intense because Danny really needs Mr. Hallorann to come and save his family from his father, who is slowly going insane in the hotel. Jack has become obsessed with the hotel and has forgotten his responsibilities as caretaker, and the ghosts in the hotel are becoming more malevolent.
