I chose this book because I thought it looked good and I had a Few people tell me it was interesting. I'm not sure I like it so far though, it's really slow moving and hard to follow.

I think the book reminds me of some books by Jane Austin, since the time period is like the same, and the characters act alike. It also reminds me of the book, "Redeeming Love", how Jane is trapped in the house and the man comes and adopts her just as in the beginning of " Redeeming Love".

So far the book is pretty good and interesting. I like how jane acts older and more mature than she really is because it allows the reader to better understand her character.

The thing I like least about this book so far is the fact that it hogs through the story really slowly and the plot seems non existent.

The thing I liked most about the book was probably janes strength and bravery. She has the strength to not retaliate when ever John reed torments her.

Jane lives in a house with her aunt and her son beats jane up and teases her and so Jane gets sent to the red room as a punishment for "hitting a boy" I thinks the conflict of her getting bullied will get resolved by her leaving the house and her aunt.

I wonder where the author got her inspiration for the story and what inspired her to write it.
