Halima Khanom Summarizer for chapters 3-6:
-Jack goes hunting again but fails to bring back meat (he doesn’t want to admit his fear.)
-Ralph is concerned about shelter
-everyone else (all the other boys) run about, eat, play swim, etc, giving no care to what’s more important.
-Henry, leader of 6-year olds, goes exploring.
-Jack and his squad go hunting again and kill a pig. They narrate their experience as if they enjoy spilling blood.
-While the squad is out hunting, neglectful of the fire they were assigned to look after, the others see a ship that potentially could have been their means of rescue. They miss this opportunity, though, because there was no fire.
-Ralph and Jack nearly get into a fight.
-Ralph begins to take his job as chief more seriously- he holds an official assembly where he is determined to sort out their priorities and fears.
-Simon, Piggy and Ralph realize the value of adults. They also notice how the other boys are starting to adapt more to a “free life” than to keep to orders (which are eventually supposed to get them rescued.)
