I dislike the..sex scenes the most. They're cringe worthy, not we much as other fantasy books which are much more cheesier but just because it involves rape which is a touchy subject on many and in today's society.

The genre of this book is fantasy, as it involves elements such as magic, the supernatural and a different time period from then with different values in life such as chivalry. "Jhiqui disagreed. "You burned the maegi in their house of dust and sent their souls to hell." (Martin 870).

Yoren, the black rangers sergeant who was in task of recruiting people from prisons, orphans, or people who are of no use to society anymore. He found Arya on the streets, after she tried to charge towards the executors of who executed her father who was a major character. "Arya rode as far ahead of the wagons as she dared so she wouldn't have to hear the little girl crying." (Martin 141).

The author does use an extensive amount of imagery from devices such as simply elaborate description of people or their belongings to metaphors and allusions to other events that happened in the book. Literary devices are most commonly found in the dream sequences of characters. "It is said that the glass candles are burning in the house of Urrathon Night-Walker, that have not burned in a hundred years." (Martin 871)

No, there are too many diverse characters that are all major in their own way to be sucked in personally, though you can still be thoroughly absorbed in the story and the atmosphere. There are about 10 or more characters so you can imagine how hectic it is sometimes. "Jon was confused. "It was only a dream." (Martin 768).

"Well, someone had taught you to lie well." (Martin 492). The quote summaries the political schemes of each vying lord very well, no one had lived a clean life without at least lying once in the fatalistic world for either personal or political gain, backstabbing other relatives to get a chance at a higher position, perhaps even at the iron throne itself.

I heard it was a good gritty fantasy book to read, darker then usual fantasy books by some degree. So far it's proven true to its words by providing complex in depth plot with real affects on the cast and sky if the plot interlude.

It's similar to this rangers apprentice book I read in middle school, with a order of rangers similar to the black rangers in the book, each taking a vow. The. Ian character of the book is a young man who joins the rangers at a young age, with Jon being his parallel. In "The Song of Ice and Fire" the rangers are not referred nearly as much as the other rangers though.

I feel like I should mention a strong female character, but not in the traditional sense such as a unusual female knight. Sansa is one of a many Ned Stark's children, all who play an important role in the story in the book. Sansa is married at the age of 13 to Joffrey Lannister, and since the her father is a "traitor" to the Lannisters he has taken his anger many a time on Sansa, even once exposing her naked.

The strong women, there are many strong female characters that are easily the equivalent to the many male lords of the realm and possibly even more sometimes, staying levelheaded and cool even if one of their children had almost fallen to death. They Ian be more bloodthirsty, keen, tactical, or proud then lords sometimes even.
