Finished part 3: Tales of the Uncanny. Ultimate Special Agent was an homage to Cap, fighting the Red Brain (get it?). However, the B story, Hypernaut, was the first section of this entire series that really read like Alan Moore. Thus far, he'd been making the stories deliberately hokey, but this time he forgot to. The 4-dimentional creature was the stuff of genius. Bonus points for the Flatland references.

Finished book 2, No One Escapes the Fury. A great send-up of Spiderman, with help from Sky Solo, Lady of L.A.S.E.R., a female Nick Fury (complete with reference to Sgt. Fury's Howling Commandos). I especially liked the Voidoid, whose existence is a two-stage joke. His name references an old punk band, and his blank visual appearance is a subtle jab at comics artists that design characters with laziness in mind.

Finished issue #1, Mystery, Incorporated. Fun Silver Age Fantastic Four send-up. They did an admirable job paying homage to Jack Kirby's art, what with requisite Kirby Crackle, stoic heroes with the corners of their mouths turned down in a grimace of power, and an ultra-curvy leading lady with a flip haircut and an innocent look on her face. Fun stuff.
