An idea I'm forming is: Frances' mom is narcissistic. She always has a lot of pride and thinks she's always the best. Because of this, she always tell her daughter, Frances, what to do and yells and abuses her if she lied to her or supposedly did something wrong. For example, there was a time where Mom dropped a glass bowl and it shattered. Then, the next day, she blamed it on Frances for not picking the pieces up.
