Jem is starting to become a "man" according to Cal, Dil doesnt come in the summer because his new dad is a lawyer.. Dill still tells Scout how he loves her and that they will marry some day.

Jem had ripped his pants in the fence running away from the radleys, he went back to get them and after that day he wouldnt talk. He soon told scout that they had been sewed & they were folded when he went to go get them He figured someone knew what he waas going to do.

I notice that dill is sorta a bad-ass. Hes really curious about the Radley place. I think hes a really interesting character.
