I can already see that those who quibble over his treatment appear not to have read carefully. So far he seems on target to my way of thinking -- no, I dont' agree with him totally -- read that again.

Chapter One - opening paragraph: "Is pride a good or bad thing? That depends on how we view th eidea of pride, on what sources and history we cite, on what social and political contexts we view it in, on whether we're religious or secular, and on how we concieve of virtue and vice." Well -- yes -- and no - black and white and gray.
