Greg and Iggy have overcome everything and are within sight of their destination. They only have 40 miles left to travel before they reach the end of their trip, but before that the story fast forwards and tells about the bet made earlier on in the story. Greg and Iggy are still at it. They've overcome multiple problems and are finally halfway to California. They've stopped at various places for various interviews. They've toured the Google headquarters as well as the Grease car headquarters that they bought their conversion set from. They've also proposed a bet, any alternative energy sources that they see along the way, Greg will have to research after the trip.

So far Greg and Iggy have run into very few problems. However, now they are experiencing larger problems. These include malfunctioning filtration systems as well as broken fuel lines. They've popped several tires as well. They have been forced to stop at Walmart (a store which Greg's wife hates), and they've had quite a few arguments. With all of these problems they are still managing to make good time on the trip.

So far Greg has commissioned his old friend Iggy to go with him on an adventure from coast to coast in a fry-grease powered car. He decided on this trip after his wife gave him the idea of converting an old diesel car into a veggie powered vehicle. It took him a while to both figure out how to get oil, and how to convince his wife to let him go, but now the two of them are on an exciting trip.
