The part of the book that I read today I didn't really like all that much. The book makes a jump in time of a couple years which seems like it skipped out on a lot. It just progresses the story faster than it needs to and leaves out so many details just to speed the plot along.

In the part of the book that I read today, a new main conflict between 2 of the main characters had started to take shape. One of which is the leader of the scythes, the other is the leader of a cult-like religious group who hate the scythes. How this plays out and how the other storylines will intersect with this conflict will be very interesting.

The Toll is split up into separate parts, and I am around the start of part 2. This means the book is a little slow right now, and because there are so many points of view in the book it just seems right now the problem for each is being set up. I predict that somehow each problem they have is going to lead the characters together, and the Thunder Head is going to put that into place.

The Toll got back into what made the other books in the series so good, but in a new way. The books in the series discuss world controlled by a perfect computer. Everyone is immortal, and death is decided by people called Scythes. Typically, if people "die" they are brought back unless they are killed by a scythe. This books uses a zone where people can't be revived, and the way characters act is so interesting!

I had to stop reading at such a frustrating part! The chapter that I ended on ends right before a big reveal from the end of the previous book in the series! I can't wait to see what happens next time I read, so far I've loved this book. I'm just wondering how the entire world is going to get out of this mess in this book.

The book finally got to a big reveal from the 2nd book in the series which was very exciting! The plot is also beginning to properly take shape. I'm enjoying how the book alternates points of view, which always keeps me interested. I'm wondering how the stories of all 3 perspectives will collide in the end.

I just finished chapter 2. I feel like overall the book got started out fast and got straight into building off of Thunderhead (the second book in the series), and the plot could definitely go a lot of different ways. I'm looking forward to reading more in the coming days.
