Super good so far! It’s interest just how much Stewart tweaks his prose between his novels. And I feel like he must have had Lavondyss, by Robert Holdstock, on his mind while writing this, because I feel there were a few references to that novel.

It’s probably a lot to do with sympathy pain from breaking my ankle a few years back, but the amputation paragraph made me squirm more violently than anything else I’ve ever read, and I’ve read Blood Meridian!
Also, so far, Galveston and Piranesi are the two strongest novels of the year. Maybe going forward I should stick to books with one-word titles?

There’s something about Stewart that just clicks with me. Now we’ve had events that, earlier today, I would have assumed would happen in the climax. I’m super intrigued to see where this goes next!
