I know this book is about modern racism or discrimination towards people of color specifically black people because the main character Starr is getting made fun of in a sense for going to a rich white people school. People in her black community perceive she is full of herself due to this fact. My prediction is that at some point there is going to be some conflict between her black friends and her white friends.

I had to turn in the book a while back due to it being overdue and being a hot pick.

I haven't read that since my last progress update but I've noticed that Starr's relationship is weird with Khalil even though she is already dating Chris. My prediction is that she is gonna break up with Chris eventually. That doesn't have to really do with the theme I just think that my idea of the theme since my last update is the same.

I'm getting to know Starr more and the racism in this story. How a police officer murdered one of her friends. Also even though she is black he doesnt feel special because it was easy to be popular in a white school since she was the only black kid.I think that I was right in prediction when it came to the fact on there going to be a conflict between two different races but I didn't expect it to be drastic like this.
