"I think you're going to make it" foreshadows that Jackie's mission is going to be a dangerous one and have a risk of dying (Lemire 17). If the mission is not dangerous, Jackie's wife wouldn't say this.

"This is going to sound crazy, but I swear I saw something down there" (Lemire 41). I like this quote because it makes the story more interesting. This quote could be a clue that Jack is going back underwater again.
