My favorite line in the book is when he references how it becomes clear some point in the 2008 election that Sarah Palin “didn’t know what the hell she was talking about.” I think you’ve gotten to that part already.

ugh. the book is so frustrating. I get so worked up thinking about how we dealt these people as though they were acting in good faith. He's talking about negotiating the stimulus package the we now know was understrength as the same idiots are trying to water down the current stimulus--which is again necessary because of the policies of a republican president!!! damn it, now I need a drink.
