I chose this book to learn more about investing and a lot of people recommended it to me so I decided to read it and it has met my expectations overall. One thing I like is how it never directly says this is the best way to invest but rather gives pros and cons of each different investment and each different style and lets you decide what's best for you.

One thing I'm noticing about the authors writing style is the very much argues for both sides even if the other side is completely unreasonable. For example, he will argue for extremely high-risk day trading with no stock experience and uses the idea that that person will learn through losing all the money and never try it again rather than just hearing people tell them not to, I can relate to arguing for both sides.

A theme I'm noticing in the book is there are fictional investors nicknamed "the defensive investor" or "the aggressive investor" and it uses these fictional investors to make examples and show what is good and bad of each investor. I can relate to "the aggressive investor" a lot so as it examines the strategies and how they might work or how they might fail it helps me understand more about how I should be investing

The author of the book is surprisingly open to new ideas and concepts and describes both sides of different arguments, for example at this time most people did not want to buy a public stock because of the risk and instead would constantly buy a bond overstock but the author describes why that may not be as beneficial and how you are still risking just in different ways.
