Okay so, in theory, I understand what this book is trying to convey. Aubrey is a spoiled member of the elite class who will have to learn the truth about the system of oppression that she is serving and instead come to sympathize with the shifters. I just can't deal with the fact that she's such a bratty character. And yeah she's a brat bottom, I get that, but fam, you've been taken hostage. Have some common sense.

7 minutes in and I'm already sighing. MC's a cop who's mad that she has to wear a bodycam otherwise she'd be beating the crap out of her target. And apparently, shifters are primal and aggressive, and the only one we've met so far is Latino-coded (named "Fuego") and dealing in contraband. I'm tired. It's 2021.
