There's something deeply uncomfortable about reading this book as a woman. You see the main character and her friends, and you see how their husbands infantilize them. And you go "oh, I've seen this before." And you did, your dad talking down to your mom, your brother or a coworker talking down to you.
I saw reviews scold the women for picking a shitty husband. But they just picked a man.

This book is becoming more and more uncomfortable. There's a lot of gaslighting being done by all the men in this book but I don't think the author even realises this. I'm about to finish this book and if the protagonist doesn't say "oh this ain't my fault actually" I'm going to hunt down the fucker that wrote this book and thought victim blaming was the way to go actually.
