End of part one. This sure sounds crazy but the Dan/Abra couple makes me think of the Tengo/Aomame couple in Murakami's 1Q84.

Come on down for a pleasure cruise
We're all going on a pleasure cruise
Come on down for a pleasure cruise
Plenty of women, plenty of booze

What does this have to do with Shining #2?
I don't know, it just crossed my mind while reading.

Dedicated to the late Warren Zevon? That's just great. Now I know what music I'll listen to tonight. I always wondered whether Roland (The Thompson Gunner) and Roland (Deschain) were somehow connected... I still don't know:-)

Abigail "June 19" my birthday ;)

Matt A very belated Happy Birthday to you :)
But that's not the reason why I mentioned it.
June 19, 1999 was the day Stephen King got hit by a car and suffered severe injuries. The day changed his life.
(view spoiler)

Abigail I remember when that happened to him, never realized it was on my birthday wow. [I knew you could not have known that was my birthday hehe] But another thing is, if you remember the film [and book/comic] CREEPSHOW and that King wrote the screenplay for, if you watch the film closely [and I'm sure it is within the illustrated comic as well] the date "June 19th" is scattered throughout that film. It is the date stamped on "the crate" and the date of the "Father's Day" story. I believe may be a few other references as well. I of course noticed because it's my bday but, I had always wondered why that date was all over the movie. The movie was in 1982, before his accident. Coincidence perhaps?

Matt I don't know CREEPSHOW (neither comic book nor film), it's one of my SK white spots. I would think it is coincidence, what else could it be? Another one is that the drunken driver who caused the accident, B. E. Smith, died September 21st, 2000, King's birthday.
Oh, and Brad Pitt is exactly two days older than me ;-)
