The Book of Exodus.
The book where God shows off his terrifying power, gets far too pernickety in his rule-making, gives out detailed furniture instructions, branches off into fashion design and cookery, instigates a civil war, and declares himself a compassionate God.
2 books down, 64 to go!

Now finished:
The Book of Leviticus (aka God lays out a bunch of new rules and punishments)
and
The Book of Numbers (aka lots of counting (and also lots of killing, and plagues))

I've decided I'd like to read the Bible all the way through. (We'll see how far I get, but for the meantime I'm actually quite enjoying it!)
I'm reading it alongside Asimov's Guide to the Bible - a historical and geographical analysis (I'd been searching for a decent analysis from a historical or philosophical or literary angle, and when I saw Isaac Asimov's name I was immediately drawn in!)
Book of Genesis - done.
