The actions effect the plot because if Carl Lee didn't rape the little girl then the. Whole book would have been different. "I gotta do what's right for my family" (Grisham 52). The father has to bring justice for his daughter for what the rapist did, which cases him to be tried for murder later on.

The most likable thing about Carl Lee is that he will do anything for his family. This makes him seem like a father figure to the reader. "Carl Lee walked to the edge of the porch with Tonya in his arms." (Grisham 94). He cares about them and their safety and will do anything to get justice for his family.

The most interesting thing that happened in my book is the rape in the beginning. Just to experience it and the way it was described peaked my interest. The rape also sets up the ret of the book so it is a main factor in the book. .

My book is plot-driven. I say this because the book is about a trial so as the trial progresses so does the book. " 'When's the preliminary hearing?' 'Maybe tomorrow, maybe Wednesday?' " (Grisham 99).

I love John Grisham and enjoy his writing style. The suspense he creates in each book and the elaborate plots make me not want to stop reading until I'm finished! I am planning on reading more from Grisham in the future.
