I feel like, if I didn't already have a good grasp on this era of history, just because I previously found it interesting and have read books about it (fictional and true history) I'd have a very hard time following what's going on in this book.

CS This is exactly how I feel; pretty much all I know about this period is what I read when I was reading "The Other Boleyn Girl". I spend most of my time lost in the names and events :/

Rachel I'm actually kind of finding it a chore to "read." If it weren't an audiobook that just turns on in my car, I'd probably have given up by now.

CS The language is particularly challenging. Mantel doesn't call Thomas Cromwell out by name very often, so I keep wondering who "he" is. Also, not a fan of third person present. It's an extremely odd choice.
