Just got finished the Introduction. A few things, though:
"The Middle Ages of the eighteenth century Enlightenment- brutal, superstitious, sordid- was utterly different from the Middle Ages of the Romantics- spiritual, chivalrous, beautiful." ~p 9
Should never be compared to the rewrite of medieval history by the Nazis mentioned on pp 25-26.

The information in this book discussing some elements of the medieval ages is good, but the pictures that are included in this book is what actually makes this book great.
