Hey my mom loved this book

I heard really good things about it and I talked to Brenda Goodrich about it (she loved it too), but I just couldn't get myself to read it. Especially after Brenda told me it was a suspenseful story with sexual-torture and such, like Silence of the Lambs... I flipped through a few pages after that then I threw it out. Didn't think I needed that stuff in my head. I decided I wouldn't go see a movie like that so why read the book?
