The protagonist of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is Professor Pierre Aronnax, who came up with the theory that the monster that is destroying ships is a large narwhal. He studies zoology and archaeology a lot and has his own collection of things relating to those subjects. The antagonist is the monster. Nothing is known about it, but it is thought to be a large narwhal. They develop the plot because so far,

"Because, professor, that beast is made of sheet-iron." is an example because you can foreshadow the beast is a submarine because submarines are made of steel, and animals aren't made of steel. You later find out that the beast is a submarine, but you can foreshadow it is one earlier.

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is written in first person point of view. A sentence that proves it is: "I was perfectly up in the subject which was the question of the day." This point of view affects the plot because you are mostly thinking about the narrator, and how something affects him, instead of thinking about all the main characters equally, and what they all go through.
