Good so far. I like the way DFW writes addiction, especially w/r/t the intricate and sophisticated systems of rationalization addicts devise to facilitate their relationship to their substance (chemical, that is). I'm less fond of the characters' tendency to monologue, especially when it's disguised as dialogue, and the way DFW will latch onto an adjectives and use it incessantly for ~30 pages (e.g., "ephebibic").
