This was solidified when she met and fell in love with Nicholas. After centuries of mastering their craft, Layla and Nicholas agreed to part for a time to spread the Christmas Word. Layla stayed in England during its Civil War.

This second book in the series is focused on Layla (Claus). After some great backstory, Layla tackles the issue of the damper placed on Christmas in the New World, especially by the Puritans. While St. Nicholas and Felix handled this, Layla remained in England, where she sought to spark new interest in Christmas. With Oliver Cromwell stirring up issues, Layla has her work cut out for her, now a wanted outlaw.
