Never read beyond book one because of the melodrama and poor writing. For all her faults, Anne Rice at least considered how perverse a relationship would be between an ancient immortal and a teenager.

I have an agreement with a co-worker that we'll both finish the series. Also another co-worker lent me the third book, so I have to at least get that far so I can return it.
