Slowing down quite a bit. There's a lot of unimportant and uninteresting information that makes it hard to enjoy this as much as I would like to.

Finally at long last starting to enjoy it even though Cicero is dead. Odd, though, that Cleopatra pretty much disappears for about ten pages.

Thus far it's the worst biography I've ever written. Schiff goes into long details about unimportant stuff while glossing over things that matter. It's like listening to someone with really bad ADHD trying to describe a movie; lots of jumping around with absolutely no cohesion.

Thus far I strongly dislike it. The writing feels pretentious and Schiff just seems to be pulling random facts/speculation out of thin air. A biography doesn't have to be linear but it still has to flow, which thus far this does not.
