Right? They say Queequeg is out selling his heads and several lines go by before you have to stop. He's what now? That sounded English but I don't think I followed. And the narrator is bedding with him tonight, so how worried should I be? Note, add Melville to the still need more list. I adore his sense of humor.

Neil Gaiman assured me, in View From the Cheap Seats, that I would like this. I have reason not to use that book as a primary shopping list for the duration of the pandemic- and just as much reason to trust him blind on this.
Within 50 pages I went from the initial "Oops.

Not seeing Tolkien parallels yet, but it feels like Narnia first fifty go arounds as a kid.
