""My dad was the same," said Crake. "He buggered off too."" I chose this quote because this is an accurate representation about what had been going on in Snowman's mind so far. Jimmy's mother had left him and this is also where the readers find out that Crake's father also left Crake. This actually came out as a shock to both the readers and to Jimmy because all Crake has ever said about his father was that he died.

"So this was the rest of his life. It felt like a party to which he'd been invited, but at an address he couldn't actually locate. Someone must be having fun at it, this life of his; only, right at the moment, it wasn't him" (Atwood 252). I chose this quote because it accurately represents how Snowman had been feeling at the moment from all the things he had to go through.

"It won't be long before all visible traces of human habitation will be gone." I chose this quote because this described more of the setting of this story. Furthermore, it was an accurate representation of what Snowman found and also of what he would do next after seeing the place.

"The children were herded out of the room with the grey mattresses, and Oryx never saw it again." I chose this quote because it clearly reflects what had been happening in the book. So far, Oryx had finally been introduced and Snowman/Jimmy was reflecting back on her traumatizing(for Jimmy but not for Oryx) backstory. Oryx had to go through a lot and this all started from when her parents had sold her.

"A few months before Jimmy's mother vanished, Crake appeared." I chose this quote because it clearly explains what had happened so far in the story. So far, since Jimmy's father had moved to a new job and successfully did a research, it led to a big argument between the mother and the father in which resulted as the mother leaving. However, before that, Crake had appeared as Glenn and was Jimmy's friend.

"Once upon a time, Snowman wasn't Snowman. Instead he was Jimmy." I chose this quote because this gives an accurate representation of what had been going on so far. It was about Snowman's past life and how he had been different then compared to now.
