I’m having a hard time with this book. I love learning about history, but there are so many little embellishments that I’m having a hard time figuring out what really happened and what the author made up. People blushing or Holmes’s rolling his sleeves up/down before & after a murder seem like unlikely details to have been recorded by participants or witnesses. Also so much obsession over blue eyes!
