This is one of the very few books I've bought, actually read a significant amount of (about 1/3) and feel no desire to finish. If this is what "horror" entails in 2020 then it's a sad state for the genre.
This book is like Dean Koontz just without the skill, humor and empathy. It's bleak, disgusting and boring, an atmosphere-less or mood revel in dreary racism, misogyny and filth.
