This was such a great, great book. I hope you like the next two as well, but alas, I did not. :(

Oh, no, really? What happened? I'm almost done and I've add the others in her series to my 2bread list.

Deke was wonderful in Jack's story, but sucked in his own. Luc was wonderful in Deke's story, but sucked in his own. This seems to be the general consensus of the people who didn't like the next 2. They are still worth reading, but they don't hold a candle to Wicked Ties, in my opinion.

That is sooooo true!! I completely agree. I was really disappointed in books 2 and 3 , especially after how much I liked Wicked Ties.

Renee, I think that was a huge part of it. I had such HIGH expectations.

Well I read the second book first, then the first and havn't read the third one yet. So maybe reading them in the wrong order is the way to go? :) But I enjoyed them and loved the second book. So to each there own I guess :D

I read Decadent first, too. I still didn't like Deke's attitude. The sex was hot, yeah, but the story line, in my opinion was not very compelling and not in keeping with this macho guy image. As you say, to each his own!

I'd advise you to be cautious if you decide to try her Doomsday Bretheren series. I've read the three already out & I don't think I've given any of them more than 2 stars. I've also talked to other members who said they didn't like the series.

Lethal, I couldn't even finish the first book, and that's unusual. I kept it and will try again, but it was just too.... meh, odd, it didn't do a thing for me.

I've had other members say that they couldn't finish the first book either. For me it didn't capture my attention or make me care for the characters at all. And it's so boring! After reading the third book in this series, which I only read for Ice Rykard, I was done. The only book I can say I really enjoyed by SB was Wicked Ties.

You said it exactly, it was boring and the whole "have to have xxxx number of orgasms to stay alive" had me rolling my eyes. I don't mind if a book is an excuse to write about sex, but please.... make it a plot I can live with.

I forgot about the "xxxxx sex" thing. IIRC, the magic users/wizards/witches have to have massive amounts of sex in order to do magic. How lame!

As for why you rated them so high, it's all good! That you! If you want to rate a book 5 stars because you liked the cover, I'm behind you! Hell, I gave a book 2 stars once because I didn't like the heroes name. Do what works for you. ;)

IIRC, it was Josiah. I can't have naughty thoughts about a hero named Josiah. It's wrong.
